Using CAD software, designed a fixture that would couple an indenter tip to a mechanical tester to perform indentation testing of various materials. By using 3D printed prototypes, a preliminary functional device was created, followed by a final device machined out of aluminum rod stock. Indentation test methods and Oliver-Pharr analysis were then used to calculate the Young’s Modulus of various cross-links of PDMS.
